A bit of history
Island Foghorns #1109 was chartered in 1999 as a member of Toastmasters International, a worldwide network of public speaking clubs in 90 countries. Our club has earned many Distinguished Club awards including 2005-06 and 2006-07.
We are a community (open) club versus a closed- corporate type Guests are always welcome at our meetings. Our members hail from all segments of the community including corporate, local small businesses, military and government employees. All have one common goal- to become more confident public speakers and leaders.
Yearly membership fees are very moderate - less than $100.00 and include TM national and local dues, a year's subscription to Toastmasters magazine, plus discounts to many free or low cost public speaking. workshops and conferences. New members also receive two training manuals. Some membership or TM district conference fees may be reinburseable through your employer or tax deductible as educational expenses. Memberships are transferrable between thousands of Toastmaster Clubs throughout the world.
Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at the Middletown Library, at 5-6 PM. Meetings last for 1 hour. Please plan to arrive a little early for our "meet & greet" time.
